Are you tired of seeing depressing news stories on the local news? Is it possible that more than BAD stuff is happening in the world? Here is an article I found at a website called www.sunnyskyz.com and at this site there are lots of positive news articles to enjoy. Here is one entitled, “She Asked her 80-Year-Old Grandma to be a Bridesmaid It Turned Out Better Than She Ever Expected”

Yesterday, I had finally had enough with my old Keurig refusing to make me a cup of coffee, so I went to Best Buy to purchase a new coffee system. The salesman, Mark, was wonderful, and he showed me all of my options. I was hoping to find a Keurig similar to my old one, however, Best Buy didn’t carry those any more. That was when I saw this new Keurig 2.0 complete with a carafe! The idea of having the ability to make either a cup of coffee or a pot of coffee filled me with elation.
Of course, I purchased the Keurig 2.0. The salesman, being as kind as he could, warned me that the one fault with the system is that only coffee pods with the Keurig symbol on it can be used with the new 2.0. And, stupid me, thought this would not be a problem. Didn’t all of my pods say Keurig 2.0?
Back at home, excited to open my new purchase and have a full cup of coffee, I began the process of setting up the machine. It was all so easy, that is, until I put my coffee pod in the machine. On the touch screen, I saw a message that said, “Oops! Please put in an official Keurig cup.” What?!
Mark, the salesman was correct. There is no work around. The Keurig 2.0 only accepts official cups with a computerized code around it and the Keurig symbol. My favorite coffee is not one of those. None of my favorite coffee is part of the Keurig family, consequently, I can only drink Keurig brand. Even more frustrating is the fact that those little cups that allow you to fill them with your own coffee will no longer work, either.
What I surmised from all of this is that if I keep the Keurig 2.0, I will forever be a slave to this company. I am only allowed to chose from its brands of coffee, and can NEVER have my favorite coffee again. I say, “No, NO, Keurig!”
I should have listened to Mark in the first place, but I guess, somewhere in my head, I was thinking that Keurig wouldn’t be so stupid as to lose a customer over a brand thing. Alas, I was terribly wrong. I boxed up the Keurig 2.0 and said goodbye to my one cup at a time life. I will not give up my freedom of choice for the convenience of the system.

Interesting article on a subject I have recently been mulling over in my own life. I take allergy meds year round for seasonal allergies, and I wonder if this has something to do with weight gain/loss. This is definitely something to look into more.
Dedicated to Mom
A silent tear
slid down my cheek
As I paged through memories
bitter and sweet
Not many years have gone
still inspires me to cry
Back then, I was safe
enfolded in arms
that helped me mature
The bitter, violent world
held at bay
while, I grew
learned how to make my way
Rules were insisted
Your firm, guiding hand
Stood its righteous stand
I turned the wrong way
a strong tower
led me right
When I was critical
You, built self-esteem
Never did you
humiliate, put me aside
You let bygones be by
Molded; morals, self-respect
I hope Mom
You are proud
For I am proud
To be you

The Illumination of 50
2012 was a year when those who were born in 1962 marked their half-century birthday. It is an eye-opening and illuminating event when 50 candles are lit on the birthday cake. Not only do we see fire and smoke, but also we experience a feeling that makes us think…”Wow! I have been around for a while!” It is quite illuminating!
Happy New Year to all!
I raise a glass in cheer to a New Year!
It will be a year filled with hope, love and prosperity.
Enjoy the journey through 2013!
