“JOY” In the Afternoon
It was an afternoon nap.
I was so tired
Quickly, I was under.
It was snowing and the world was white.
The sun was bright in the crystallized sky.
Then,
A flash of red from the side-
A little bundle only a few feet high.
I watched in wonder
I smiled in awe.
Then, the little boy hit me…
With a snowball.
I laughed and asked his name.
He said it was something that started with a “J”.
Who are you? I asked again
He replied, “I am your JOY.”
My eyes flashed open and the dream was gone.
I was left with the feeling that “J”
Would be my future grandson.

Thank you, Timzauto. I wasn’t sure if I should copy and paste it to you site. I guess I will know for the future. 🙂
Jamie, I hope your dream comes true.
It did! My grandson’s name is Jeremy and he is my JOY. I really had this dream a year before he was born. I wrote it in my diary and showed it to my daughter when I found out she was pregnant. She really wanted a girl, but I kept telling her it would have to be a boy, due to my dream. Thanks for commenting. Enjoy the night. 🙂
That’s awesome Jamie. I am sure your daughter is also very happy to have had a boy.
Valentina
Yes she is very grateful. 🙂
Love the poem 🙂 such a happy dream!
Yes, indeed! thanks 🙂
How cool this is. Before our niece was born I dreamed that her name would be Karen Christopher (Christopher as a middle name, go figure). I did not share this with her parents, but when she was born they named her Karyn (our son’s name is Christopher).
I’d like to believe that I had a soul visit with my grandson. Maybe you had the same with your niece. Whatever it is, it was very comforting. Thanks for stopping by and chatting. Enjoy the evening. 🙂
