Day Twenty-nine:  Adventures.  Life is all about the adventures we take and what we learn from them.  What recent adventure have you been on?  What knowledge did you gain?

About bigsmileu1

What good is living life if you don't share all the experiences, mistakes, and knowledge you have gained? I am a grandmother, a wife, a mother of two grown children, a Jr. High Teacher for almost two decades, an elementary principal and I want to share my experiences.

  1. Today, I went on a grand adventure of firsts. I took the Metra train for the first time into Union Station in Chicago. I walked from Union Station to the Daley Center to do my civic duty as a juror. I was put on a trial for the first time, a two-day trial. The sites I experienced were not all firsts, however, I did see St. Peter’s Church, the JW Marriot, and a gigantic windmill. For the first time, I was able to enjoy lunch downtown with my Hubby. He took me to a great Chinese place that he frequents often for lunch that is only a short walk from his office building. At the end of the day, I ran to Union Station to catch the train back home, but alas, was still not on time. I had to wait for the next train, but luckily, my husband was there to wait with me. Overall, it was quite the adventure, and the good thing is that tomorrow, I will do it over again.

  2. Good topic. Hmm, having young kids has reduced the number of adventures I can take, but finding new hiking trails for the family to enjoy is always lots of fun. Always something new to see and explore.

    • When my kids were young we spent many a day hiking in the forest preserves near our home. Those were some of the best adventures I have ever had. Thanks for commenting on my post. 🙂

  3. Great post Big Smile! On a recent adventure I learned about the kindness of strangers. An important lesson to be sure. 🙂

  4. I’m leaving tomorrow for my adventure to learn about sustainable organic farming…volunteering on a local Farm for 7 days through WWOOF USA (world wide opportunities on organic farms). I am grateful to have this opportunity! Best of luck to you with all of your adventures.

    • Wow! What a cool adventure you are off to in organic gardening. I would love to know what you learn while you are there, perhaps you will share when you return. Good luck and best wishes. 🙂
